Care to venture a guess?

So, since I'm now 36 weeks I feel like it's only fair to venture a guess as to when Lexi Kate will make her arrival, how much she'll weigh, etc.

Here are some things to consider:
My due date is January 22
My mom was late with my sister (first born) and I was on time
The full moon is on January 27
I weighed around 7 1/2 pounds and Marshall was 7 pounds 9 1/2 oz. when we were born

Lexi Kate is now head down according to the doctor- woohoo! And no dilation yet (as of last Friday)- but I go back to the doctor on Monday.  You can comment or send us a message on FB to make a guess!  I'm curious to see what everyone thinks!

35 weeks!

Well, I officially feel like a stuffed turkey.  I just look down at my stomach and think how can it get any bigger?! Luckily I'm still feeling good.  Had some back pain but I've been seeing a chiropractor who goes to our church and have had some adjustments so hopefully that will start feeling better soon.  I guess when you're 5'1" any weight in the belly area is tough on the back.  I've also had some swelling which I am notorious for on airplanes so I had an idea when I was pregnant I would swell.  I remember when I flew to India and slept most of the flight instead of getting up and walking around being shocked at my calf and foot becoming one big piece of meat.  My poor cankles look awful but they don't feel that awful.  My rings also fit only occasionally during the day.  I was hoping/excited being the most pregnant in the winter months that I could avoid some of the heat swelling but when it's 70 degrees in December you can't really avoid that either.  I also had some sciatic nerve pain one day but ever since then it's been fine so Lexi must have cooperated and changed positions to be more comfortable for mommy.  Now, my biggest concern is if she's head down.  And I know, I know, she still has a while to turn and babies turn until the day before birth but I'm a planner and I want her to already be prepared!  I think she might be head down because I feel her hiccups low... but I've read some things that say that could mean nothing.  I go back on Friday for the delightful Strep B test since I am 35 weeks- joy.  The nursery is as finished as it will be right now until we get the crib skirt, curtains and some baskets for under the changing table... but I PROMISE there will be pictures to come SOON!   If yall will continue praying that Lexi is head down and that I would have a good delivery and a healthy baby girl that would be much appreciated. We are ready to meet our little girl!    

32 Weeks/8 Months!

It is hard to believe I am 8 months pregnant and in more or less than 2 months we will have our little girl here!  I've been feeling great... not as much heartburn recently- it's rare if I do have it.  I've had some back pain and the ongoing hip pain at night but other than that it's been really smooth.   I've been sleeping well still and feeling rested throughout the day- maybe to prepare me for the lack of sleep ahead! ;) I'm now seeing the doctor every 2 weeks and they have all been really quick appointments.  

Lexi Kate is still a very active little girl and moves a lot! She is now rolling more so than punching and kicking and we have been able to see my whole stomach move.  She is definitely running out of room and taking up all of the space inside!  I've been able to sub several days which has been good to earn a little extra money.  We are both anxious to meet her and get her here.  Thanks to Ashley I feel more accomplished working in her nursery this week.  She came over and helped me sort through some stuff and organize her room to prepare for the other stuff we will be getting soon before she comes.  I washed up all of her clothes that we have gotten and put them in her dresser by size so that it will be easy to access it!  I will post pictures once it's all finished- we're still waiting on getting our changing table and painting the bookshelf and once those things are in we will hang the pictures and decorate but I'm really excited about the light turquoise color we painted the wall. This is the color we went with: 

That's just a little taste of her nursery!  The accent colors are hot pink and gray and all her furniture is white.  I am very excited to see it once everything is finished and in there!  Still lots to do before she gets here!  But we're ready! :)

28 Weeks!

I'm 28 weeks as of Tuesday!  It's hard to believe I'm that far along.  Some days can be long and others seem to fly by!  I've still been feeling good.  I had a little heartburn this past week but I tried to cut out some spicy foods and anything carbonated (I was drinking Sprinte and Ginger Ale since they were caffeine free).  That's really seemed to help and I haven't had a problem in the past 5 days!  Our next appointment is on Monday and we will get to have our 4-D ultrasound!  We are super excited and we will post pictures of our little girl once we get them!  I'm really excited to have another ultrasound because the last one we had was when we found out she was a girl!  I have been trying to gain weight and eating everything I want to- so we'll see those results when I go back on Monday and see how much weight I've gained on the doctor's scale!  I feel like ours at home isn't as accurate because it always says I'm heavier than when I get to the doctor.  I do know that our little girl is a mover!  She likes to roll, kick and punch and she has the hiccups often. 

I'm in the third trimester- the home stretch!  I'm very ready to meet her... although there are still MANY things I have to do to get ready for her.  We did get a crib though!  Hopefully Marshall can put that together sometime this weekend with the help of his dad and Renae who are coming to visit and help with yardwork and see our house!  We are very excited and blessed to have so many people who want to come to SC to visit us!  Thanks for your prayers- hopefully everything will continue to go well.  

25 weeks and name reveal!

It's been a few weeks since I last posted a picture of the belly, which I feel is getting pretty big!  Although we did have an appointment today for my glucose test and the doctor said I had only gained 9 pounds and I needed to be at around 15 by now- so eat up!  Yay!  Anything that gives me permission to eat more food- yes please!  I won't find out the results for the glucose test until Wednesday but they said no news is good news.  If I did fail and need the 3 hour test they will call Wednesday to schedule the next test.  So, pray that the test is normal and I don't hear anything.  Some of you also know the headache I have been going through with insurance and I called again today (for the millionth time!) and the lady said she sent in the paperwork for me to be reinstated and that I would hear back within 24-48 hours!  FINALLY!  After much tears were shed, I hope this whole craziness is resolved and they will cover the claims up until now with the doctors office!  

My doctor measured my belly and said I was measuring a week or 2 behind what I actually am- so I might be looking at a late birth- I'm hoping that once I gain a little more weight that I will be measuring on schedule- I don't want to be late!!!  But the heartbeat was good- 152.  Other than that everything went really well!  My only complaint that's new is that my back has been hurting some.  I feel like I just can't get comfortable in some positions so that's been a little bummer... but hopefully I will adjust and be able to hold myself in a way that it doesn't strain my back.  My next appointment is in 3 weeks and hopefully we will have a 4-D ultrasound then!

22 Weeks!

I'm still feeling great!  Can't complain!  Just had an appointment this past Tuesday and everything looked great.  Strong heartbeat- 166 and she said I was measuring good. She said I'm still pretty small because I have good pelvic/ab muscles and its holding the baby low and tight- which she said would be great for delivery!  Woohoo!  I will be 23 weeks tomorrow (Tuesday).  I still haven't had any really strong cravings yet.  Hip pain at night is still continuing and will prob continue until the end.  So far, no heartburn!  Our next appointment is the big glucose test so be praying that all of that goes well and that the results are normal.  Our house is coming along but not to where I want pictures posted yet :)  

Halfway!

I can't believe I'm already halfway! 20 weeks has gone by fast! The main change with the pregnancy is that I have been able to feel the baby A LOT. She moves all the time. And since this is Marshall's child, who is surprised by that?! It has been really neat to feel her kick the past 2 weeks and Marshall has gotten to feel her a couple times too. Even today I was able to see the kick from the outside. I can't believe she is that big already to feel and see! Our next appointment is September 18- the day after my birthday. And, since we are making the trip to Florence and Starbucks gives a free drink for your birthday I am taking full advantage of that on that day!

These past 2 weeks have been crazy because we were closing on a house in Sumter and in the process of moving into that house and painting. I really realized how tired and kind of useless I was in the moving process! I could help paint though :) We were very blessed to have lots of help moving which was great for us not to have to do it all by ourselves since we JUST moved 3 months ago! We LOVE our house! We've already had 2 guests and are having a third this weekend! There will be pictures of the house to come once we get it a little more unpacked... although I feel like we've done a pretty darn good job since we just moved in a little over a week ago! We are still deciding on nursery colors... although I'm leaning towards light turquoise for the walls and hot pink accents. We'll see.

I will share a sweet story of our neighborhood that we have loved living in so far. Yesterday we heard a knock at the door and there was a little old man standing there. He introduced himself as our neighbor across the street and gave us a card with his name and phone number on it with a box of chocolates to welcome us to the neighborhood. He said if you ever need anything- I'm retired- and we would be happy to help in any way we can. Well, we'd seen him cutting his grass on a riding lawn mower earlier in the week and we still haven't purchased one for this yard yet so Marshall says if he would be willing we'd love to borrow his mower to cut our grass sometime. He said that was perfectly fine and whenever we wanted it, it was ours. Fast forward to this morning. Marshall was off shooting guns with some other guys and I'm home around 10:00 sitting and watching t.v. All of a sudden I hear a lawn mower that sounds like it is right outside our house! It was that sweet old man on his riding lawn mower cutting our grass! He did the entire yard this morning! Isn't that just so precious and sweet? I think we will love being his neighbor! :)
