The Dirty Myrtle

So this weekend the Byrum's invited us to be a part of a Mudrun in Myrtle beach called The Dirty Myrtle.  When I say us, I mean Marshall. Haha.  They have a house at Surfside Beach and were so sweet to let us stay with them on Friday night and get up and do the run on Saturday morning.  We loaded up the car and headed down to the beach on Friday afternoon.  It was such a beautiful day and we still had time to go out on the beach for a little while before grilling hotdogs and hamburgers for dinner and hanging out on the beach again that night.  The Edwards family was also staying with them and so we had a house full of kids with the Byrum's three, Edwards' 1 (+1 on the way) and our little Lexi -and Daniel Barber (15 yo-haha).  We got up around 7:30 to leave the house around 8 and be at the race site by 9:00 to ensure plenty of time before the guys went off.  They were able to add Daniel and register as a team to go off at exactly 9:47 a.m.

Their goal was to stay as a team- no matter how slow the slowest member was...no names :) and finish in under an hour.  They accomplished their goal.  I wasn't able to get many shots of them in action because when Marshall did run by he threw his disgusting shirt at me (and Daniel's) and told me to grab them and keep them. Ew. But being the wonderful wife I am I did grab them and put them in the disposable diaper bags that I keep in Lexi's diaper bag.  So instead of getting pictures at this time I was picking up and handling with care their nasty shirts.  Anddd when they finished I had just finished changing Lexi's blowout diaper and rushed over just in time to watch (William sneak past the rest of them illegally on the side) them all finish- minus the camera.  Whoops! I did get some good shots from before and after and Alison and Beth both were taking some good pictures during the race and finish so I'm hoping to steal some of theirs! Lexi did great during all of this especially since there really wasn't anywhere to hang out and she just stayed in her snap n go and was pushed around in the field.  Here are the pictures I did get.

Sadly I didn't get any pictures of the whole group :(  On Saturday after the race we headed back and ate lunch and went out to the beach for a few hours.  Lexi did sooo great!  She loved laying under the tent and kicking her feet and talking.  We headed back to Sumter around 4.  It was a quick turn around but it was a fun trip!

My how you've grown!

Just a little side by side comparison of Lexi's monthly pictures.  She sure is growing!  I can't believe she's not still that first one month shot of her! My sweet little girl!  I'm one proud Mommy!

4 Months!

This last month has been super fun!  I've loved watching this little girl grow and develop/show her personality more!  I've decided to make categories to talk about each aspect of her life these days.

Stats:
We go to the doctor next Monday so we will find out everything officially then.  She's around 11 pounds and estimated 23 inches long.

UPDATE: at the doctor she was...
11 lbs 7 oz. (10%)
22 3/4 in. long (10%)
15 3/4 in head (25%)

Reflux:
Oh my how it has changed since last month.  We were switched from Zantac to Prevacid and with all the other changes it has made suchhhh a difference!  She is spitting up wayyy less than before.  She's gaining weight now- yay and she's a happy girl feeling better! And she loves to take her medicine now!

Eating:
She is still eating really well.  We're trying to stretch her 1.5 hour feedings out a little more to 2-2.5 hours.  She still wakes up 1x per night around 5 to eat once we stopped waking her up again.  Can't complain there.

Napping/Sleeping:
We just started sleep training her because of all the inconsistencies of her eating and the reflux and now we feel like we are starting new.  We started putting her down in her crib in her room for naps and started writing down how long it took her to fall asleep and how long she stayed asleep.  It has gone so incredibly well I'm in amazement!  The most she has cried is about 25 minutes and that is the very first day we started and we were going in there to comfort her every 10 minutes.  Since then she cries/fusses for maybe 5 minutes and then we can see her on the monitor fast asleep.  It's wonderful!  She's doing sooooo well!  She takes 3 naps (around 10:00, 2:00, 6:00-ish) then we give her the Prevacid around 8:30 and we do her last feeding around 9:00 and put her to bed right after that.  She sleeps great at night and like I said usually wakes up around 5 a.m. to eat and then sleeps until 8:30.  We're still swaddling her because we tried her naps not swaddled and we watched her on the monitor startle herself awake so many times it couldn't have been restful sleep.  I don't know when we will stop- she's a jumpy sleeper like her mama.

Clothing:
She is in 3 month clothes still and some are still big.  She's just a little girl- I mean her parents were both shorties (Daddy until 11th grade) and I'm only 5'1".  Being little's not bad!  We've just got some super cute 6 month clothes I'm ready for her to wear! :) And she's also still in size 1 diapers.

Things she's loving:
-Dancing with Mommy and Daddy
-When Daddy holds her up and calls her Super Lexi!
-Her play mat, toys and swing
-Chewing on her hands/everything
-Grabbing Daddy's arm hair- hahaha
-Being on her changing table
-Kicking her feet
-Reading(listening to) stories

Things she's NOT loving (haha):
-Her car seat- she cries/screams when she's alone in the back seat... any ideas to make this better?
-Being burped (sometimes)
-Tummy time... she will last maybe 5 minutes and then she wants to be flipped over.
-Rolling over- she hasn't rolled over again since the first time (maybe it was a fluke?) but she gets to her side and is just content playing laying on her side.

Fun extras:
She is smiling and giggling so much now!  She's so much fun to be around and you definitely see her personality coming out more and more!  She loves being around people.  If we aren't in the room and she's fussing and we put her in the room with us off to the side she's happy just seeing us.  Her hands are still in her mouth all the time and she's drooling and blowing bubbles with her mouth.  She loves to chew on things... we're wondering if she might be teething?  She's not more fussy but we've just noticed a few little things that make it possible.

Firsts this month:
Sitting in the bumbo!

Instead of a collage of the month I took a photo shoot for her 4 month pictures and some of these are straight up adorable. Hopefully I can do another post showing some pictures throughout the last month.

Look at my belly!

This one's a little blurry... but I just love it.

I love the expression on her face in this next one...

Serious pose.
