She is on one nap a day- usually around 1. We are still trying to stretch that nap into a long one, which I think will be a process :)
In 12-18 month clothes weighing around 20.5 lbs and around 30 inches tall.
Some fun "Lexi things" this month....
She is still a dominant lefty when eating and right handed when writing. Maybe she'll be ambidextrous?
She knows all of her animal sounds and colors and we have moved on to intentional teaching time with the letters and sounds. Right now when she counts she usually counts everything as a "2" but when you ask her how old she is she says "1" and holds up 1 finger.
She has found a love of going to the Park this month. She can finally climb on the equipment and enjoys going down the slide and swinging occasionally. She LOVES when other kids are there and will go up to them and just smile or follow them around. Miss social.
She is enjoying coloring
She likes to play what she calls "Get You" in the backyard. She calls it this because we say "Want me to get you?"
She's enjoyed wearing my necklaces and continues to love bracelets (which prompted me to get her, her own from Target today)
She's started patting the floor when she wants us to sit down with her- I guess she's seen us do this to prompt her to sit with us
She likes hiding behind the curtains and playing peek a boo. She'll say either "Peek" or "Boo"
We've started "Time Out" with her to give her a new consequence to things that we see as direct disobedience (ex. starting the dishwasher by pushing the button she knows she's not supposed to push or not coming when we ask her to). We give her 1 minute and then tell her she can go play. While she's in time out she can only sit on the step and face the living room. She usually asks us when she's sitting there "All done? Play?"
She's begun to verbalize more of what she wants this month. She says a lot "Play, Read, Snack, Eat, Watch (to watch out the garage door when one of us is leaving), Back (to play in the backyard and to rub her back before she goes to sleep) and Park, Starbucks (haha) and Pop when we go there because she wants a cake pop, Park, Bible, Pray, Milk, Up Please, Go, Rock when she wants to be in the rocking chair
She's has an unhealthy obsession with "dip" this month. She wants dip to go with all of her food. Her chicken has to be dipped in BBQ sauce and her waffles and pancakes have to be dipped in syrup. She announces "DIP" as she's dipping also to make sure she gets the full "dip experience".
She can say her full name now and when we ask her what her name is she will say "Lay-ay Ha-per" ;)
When we go to church and I tell her she can go play with her friends she lists Parker and Landri as the friends she will see :) along with Meagan, Riley and Daniel (some of our FBC students) and usually Ash-ee and Admuh (Ashley and Adam).
She has started a "big smile" face that she gives when we say Show me your big smile!
Before going to sleep she has also started saying "BIG HUG" and giving a grunt/squeeze to signal that it is, in fact, a big hug.
She currently loves the songs Do You Want to Build a Snowman and Love is an Open Door from Frozen (although she hasn't seen the entire movie, just the first 10 min) Shake It Off by Taylor Swift, Happy Day (Shane&Shane) when she hears music she has to stop and dance (shake her booty).
When you come in her room to get her up (in the morning or from naps) she often says "Heh-whoa" Hello with a "w" for an "l" and its more dragged out like HEHHHHWHOA! (If that makes any sense?!) These are the things that make me smile thinking about them and I don't want to forget! I know this will make me smile reading it again in the future!
Here are some {blurry} iphone pictures this month:
She loves to help put away the water bottles.
These were taken on my birthday...
Love this face!
I'm just doing my hair, Mom!
She just wanted to sit and drink her water up at the top.
Mini-me....Loving this outfit!
Examples of her "big smile"...
Lexi tackling hugging Parker in nursery at church. Parker just loves this.... not. ;)
